Arlys Hendricks

Arlys D. Hendricks, 93, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Good Samaritan Society, Davenport.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.  A Celebration of Life will be held 1pm Thursday, November 30, at Metropolitan Community Church of the Quad Cities (MCC QC), 2930 W Locust St, Davenport, Iowa  52804, with a meal following. Memorials may be made to MCC QC.

Arlys was born in Aurora, Nebraska, to Vada (Peters) Holm and Nels Holm. The family moved to Fairfield, Iowa in 1942, and Arlys graduated Fairfield High in 1948. She wed William G Hendricks in 1948 and they were married for 71 years before his death in 2019. 

She was a Sunday school teacher, den mother, and speech parents club president and member of Grace and Faith United Methodist Churches before coming to MCC QC. 

She is survived by three sons, William N (Jackie) of Overland Park, KS; Mark (Pam) of Moline, IL; and Rich (Jeff Transou) of Davenport; nine grandsons; two great grandsons; one great granddaughter and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, son Scott (Joan Gasser) and grandson Sean.
