Antonio’s strength, determination, and love for his daughters and grandchildren will live on. In his honor, we will continue to stand strong, carry forward his legacy, and we will “never surrender”
Born on November 23, 1974, in Silvis, Illinois, Antonio was the son of Virginia Gonzalez Torres and J. Jesus Torres. From a young age, he developed a strong work ethic and deep sense of responsibility. He began his career working at Oscar Mayer, where he learned the value of dedication and perseverance. Over time, Antonio found his true passion in hands-on labor, transitioning into construction and agricultural work. His legacy of hard work, resilience, and strength will forever resonate with those who had the privilege of knowing him.
His journey led him to Moline, Illinois, where he built not only a life but a legacy. Antonio devoted many years to construction, earning the respect of those he worked alongside for his skill, reliability, and leadership. In addition to his work in the United States, he remained deeply connected to his roots in Mexico, where he took great pride in harvesting land and contributing to his family’s agricultural efforts. His commitment to providing for his family extended across borders, reflecting both his strength and his unwavering love.
Antonio cherished his role as a grandfather and found immense joy in his grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoyed harvesting, relaxing with a cold brewski, watching movies, and staying connected with loved ones through Facebook videos and FaceTime calls. He had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved.
Antonio is survived by his beloved children, Krystal (Michael) Alparslan, Aliyah (Juan) Mora, Nileah Torres, Liliana Torres, and Juliana Torres; his cherished grandchildren, Izabella Elena, Michael Orhan, Luka Antonio, Matteo, and Leonardo; and his siblings, Maria Ponce, Carmen, Virginia, Joe, Jessie Torres, Teresa (Antonio) Raya, Rosario Martinez, and Margarita (Sergio). He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Jesus, and his brothers, Salvador and Antonio.
Antonio’s strength, determination, and love for his daughters and grandchildren will live on. In his honor, we will continue to stand strong, carry forward his legacy, and we will “never surrender.”
