Anthony V. Smith

Anthony “Tony” V. Smith, 73, of Moline, Illinois, passed on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Trinity Rock Island, Illinois.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

Anthony V. Smith was born on March 25, 1953, in Cornelia, Georgia, the son of James and Bonnie (Masters) Smith.

He was a jack of all trades who rarely sat still. He worked hard his entire life, but took pride in staying busy. When he wasn’t working, you could find him fixing, building, or adding to his ever-growing collection of tools, machines, and “treasures” in the garage. His hobbies tended to keep life interesting and a little on the mischievous side.

Tony is survived by his son, James Smith; daughter, Angela Hodonou and her family; grandchildren, Brittaney (Emilio) Babcock, Kevin (Sierra) Carlson, Corbin (Rachel) Smith, Colton (Faith) Smith, Cody (Kalyn) Smith, and Livia Hook; great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Lio, Daisy, Aurora, and Kade; sisters, Brenda Mazzarollo, Carol Boultinghouse, and Joann Jellis; nieces and nephews, Richard, Sonny, Shawn, Nick, Trina, Bonnie, and Mandy; good friend, Heather Bender; and many other family members who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bonnie Smith; brother, Kenny Smith; and a niece, Cassandra Lynn Bernauer.
