William J. “Billy” Sindt, Jr., 73, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, May 28, 2006, in Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal, where Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Visitation is one hour before the services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Niabi Zoo.
Billy was born October 13, 1932, in Moline, the son of William J. and Estella (Wahe) Sindt. He served in the U. S. Army in Korea. He worked in the shipping department at John Deere Wagon Works for 30 years, retiring in 1987. He belonged to the Woodcarvers Association and enjoyed playing golf.
Billy is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Beverly Peters of Davenport, and Joann and Bob Ransom of East Moline, and several nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by sisters, Isabelle Rasmussen and Margery Nelson, and a brother, Lyle Sindt.
