William E. Nipper

William E. Nipper, 65, of Muscatine, Iowa, formerly of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Saturday, December 17, 2022, at home.


Graveside services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 23, at Rock Island National Cemetery, where the Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Those wishing to attend should meet in the parking lot of Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, at 10:45 a.m. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to his family.


William Edward Nipper was born August 7, 1957, in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Morgan Emil and Joann (Davis) Nipper. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for three years, spending time in Germany. He married the love of his life, Melissa Hart, on May 25, 2019, in Las Vegas, Nevada.


Bill loved to shoot pool and had a great sense of humor. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.


Bill is survived by his wife, Melissa; four children, William (Dawnie) Nipper, Jr., John Nipper, Marcie Nipper, and Natalie Nipper; several grandchildren; siblings, Diane (Max) Preslar, Joyce Lawson, Jeanie Lawson, David (Donna) Nipper, Allen (Charlene) Mosher, and Joe Mosher; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Tony Nipper; and a brother-in-law, Sonny Lawson.
