Weldon E. Campbell, Jr.

Weldon E. Campbell, Jr., 59, of Silvis, Illinois, died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Weldon was born August 11, 1961, in Moline, the son of Weldon Sr. and Patricia Ann “Annie” (Gardiner) Campbell.

Weldon worked at 2 & 92 Truck Parts for 17 years and Bills Service Center prior to that. He enjoyed working on cars and helping others, playing with Spaz (his cat), and visiting with friends over a beer and cigarette. He especially enjoyed this with his best friend, Bob Houk. Above all else, his daughter, Shelby, was the most important thing to Weldon.

Weldon is survived by his daughter, Shelby Swiatkiewicz-Campbell of Silvis; his mother, Annie DeGeeter of East Moline; and a sister, Cindy (Shawn) Mitchell of Winchester, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Barbara Campbell; and his companion of 21 years, Diana Swiatkiewicz.
