Warren D. Secoy, Jr., 76, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died unexpectedly Sunday, January 27, 2013, at his home in Apache Junction, Arizona.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Coal Valley, with The Reverend Robert E. Hagen officiating. Visitation is 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made a favorite charity.
Warren Debs Secoy, Jr. was born February 12, 1936, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Warren Debs Sr. and Edna Minnie (Riepe) Secoy. He married Janet Dunkin with whom he had four children. He later married Kathleen Clary in Coal Valley, Illinois.
Warren worked as an Electrician for Ralston-Purina in Davenport, Iowa.
He loved traveling with his wife to various places and spending their winters in Arizona where he acquired many new and dear friends, having gatherings with family that always included lots of laughter and stories, and visiting with the guys around Coal Valley. He also enjoyed woodworking and crafts that he shared with his family and friends.
Warren is survived by his wife, Kathleen Clary-Secoy, of Coal Valley; sons and daughters-in-law, Warren, III and Carol Secoy of Davenport, Randall and Sue Secoy of Milan, Illinois, and James and Carla Secoy of Davenport; a daughter and son-in-law, Dodd and Deb Brus of Stockton, Iowa; step-children and their spouses, Michael and Jennifer Clary of Milan, and LuAnn and Sid Matlick of Coal Valley; 11 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and a half-sister, Linda Lamboy. He was preceded in death by a brother, George Secoy, and a half-sister, Becky Lamboy.
