Violet A. Caldwell, 76, of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013, in Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society.
The former Violet Ann Palmer was born June 27, 1936, in Galva, Illinois, to Leonard A. and Agnes Robertson Palmer. She married Charles Caldwell in 1963, and the couple later divorced. She had been employed in the cafeteria at Moline High School and John Deere Junior High School. She enjoyed animals, especially her cat Lucy, and going for walks.
Violet is survived by three children, Wayne Kenney of Moline, Tim Caldwell of Peoria, Illinois, and Melissa Caldwell of Rock Island; two grandchildren, Britta and Kerstin Caldwell; her mother, Agnes Palmer of Moline; and her sister, Shirley Kelley of Moline. She was preceded in death by her father and her brother, Raymond Palmer.
