Victor Saucedo, Sr., 84, of Silvis, Illinois, died Saturday, October 13, 2012, in Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport, Iowa.
Services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, with The Reverend Greg Jozefiak officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, with the VFW Post 8890 and MAVA presenting military honors. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the church or the VFW Post 8890.
Victoriano Saucedo was born June 15, 1928, in Iowa Colony, Texas, the son of Ventura and Juanita (Ortega) Saucedo. He married Jenny ?Jean? Sierra on September 22, 1952, in Houston, Texas. He served in the United States Army 408 Qtr. Master Co. as a paratrooper and glider, and was stationed in Japan for 3 ½ years.
Victor retired from Sivyer Steel in 1990, after 38 years as a molder. He was a life member of the VFW Post 8890 in East Moline, and the 82nd Airborne Association.
Victor is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jean; children and their spouses, Victor Jr. (Shelly) Saucedo of Silvis, Belinda (Tim) Harrmann of Silvis, Pastor Ramiro Jr. (Pilar) Casso of Pasadena, Texas, Valentina (Mike) Schlichting of Davenport, Iowa, Regina (Shawn) Walters of Silvis, Crystal Saucedo of Milan, Grace (Matt) Sisson of Colona, Luke Saucedo of East Moline, and Moses Saucedo of Fredericksburg, Virginia; 15 grandchildren; siblings and their spouses, Alejandro (Delfina) Saucedo of East Moline, Arturo (Elena) Saucedo, Samuel Saucedo, and Gloria (Leon) Rodriquez, all of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, and Lydia (Jesus) Ortiz of GTO, Mexico; and special family, Olga (David) Avila, and Martha (Alfred) Romero, all of LaPorte, Texas. He was preceded in death by three sisters, and twin grandsons, Louis John and Michael Paul Saucedo.
