Suzanne B. Lindell, 57, of Moline, died Wednesday, November 1, 2006, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church, Moline, where she was a member. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. The Reverend Mark Gehrke will officiate. Private burial is in National Cemetery, Rock Island, where the Moline American Legion will present military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Church, LSSI, or the American Cancer Society. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is assisting the family.
The former Suzanne Bruch was born January 12, 1949, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Dorothy (Hanson) Bruch. She married Nels Lindell on February 28, 1970, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Suzanne and her husband were foster parents to 70 children over the span of 15 years through the Lutheran Social Services of Illinois. They also hosted seven foreign exchange students. She was a member of the Chime and Bell Choirs, WELCA, and assisted in shut-in visitations with the church.
Suzanne is survived by her husband; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Wendy Lindell of Ottumwa, Iowa; a daughter and son-in-law, Heidi and Jeffrey Elkins of Moline; grandchildren, Renee and Carley Elkins, and North Lindell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Vince Herman of Mapleton, Illinois, and Connie and Barry Sanders of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and a brother and sister-in-law, John and Kathy Bruch of Scottsdale, Arizona.
