Susan L. Ohlerich

Susan Ohlerich, 65, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Saturday, June 29, 2019.

Services are 11 a.m. Friday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Following the service, Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Susan's family will then greet friends at a funeral luncheon in CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Davenport Disabled American Veterans or Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Susan Lee Ohlerich was born October 9, 1953, in DeWitt, to Albert and Luetta (Dettman) Ohlerich. She graduated from Central Community High School in DeWitt in 1971, served in the US Army from 1973 to 1976, and received a certificate as a Medical Laboratory Assistant from Scott Community College in 1978. She retired in 2009 as an IT Specialist in the Defense Information Systems Agency at the Rock Island Arsenal. She was an avid animal lover and adopted many cats and dogs, and even a horse, over the years, and enjoyed traveling with family and friends and shopping for gourmet foods.

Susan is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Barry Deist of Staunton, Illinois, and Karie and Mark Kutmas of Colona; six nieces and nephews and their spouses, Greg and Fabiana Deist, Phillip and Lynne Deist, Barbara and Kenneth Obert, Brian and Nichole Kutmas, Brandon and Ashley Kutmas, and Bradley Kutmas; and eight grandnieces and grandnephews.She was preceded in death by her parents.
