Susan J. Ford, 65, of Mulberry, Florida, formerly of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Lakeland, Florida, of heart failure.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 745 Lake Miriam Dr., Lakeland, FL 33813, or to a favorite charity.
Susan was born to the late Melvin and Katherine Mauk Ford on October 13, 1945, in Moline, Illinois. She graduated from the Lutheran School of Nursing and Marycrest College, and was a nurse at Lutheran Hospital for 25 years. Later, she was a Utilization Review Nurse. She was former member of the First United Methodist Church, Rock Island, Illinois.
Susan resided in Florida for the past 12 years, where she was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Lakeland. Susan was a very sweet and kindhearted person. She enjoyed her dog ?Lucky,? reading books and playing bridge. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Susan is survived by her sister, Marsha Greiner of Mulberry, Florida; and her niece, Elizabeth Kirby and her husband Tom and grand-nephew, Jordan Kirby, of Memphis, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Katherine and Melvin Ford, and her brother-in-law, Herbert Greiner.
