Susan G. Hutson

Susan G. Hutson, 77, of Rock Island, died Saturday, December 8, 2018, in Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, surrounded by her family.

Services are 11 AM Thursday in Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 7 PM Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Clarissa Cook Hospice or Heritage Woods.

Sue was born November 27, 1941, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Fred and Margaret (Wernicke) Hassler. She married Cecil Hutson on June 18, 1960, in Milwaukee. Her greatest joy in life was being a "stay at home" wife and mother and being a "Grandma." Her hobbies and interest included enjoying her family and friends, arts and crafts, sewing, volunteer work and, later in life, her computer.

Sue is survived by her husband, Cecil; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Dennis Carr of Moline, Sharie and Sherman Loney of Avondale, Arizona, Laura and Fred Behan of Decatur, Alabama, and Margie Hutson of Moline; eight very-much loved grandchildren, Brandon, Andrew, Stacey, Sarah, Mollie, Susie, Ceci, and Bre; a great-granddaughter, Natalie; and a great-grandson lovingly expected in April. She is also survived by seven sisters and nine brothers and their spouses, Marge Evans, Nancy and Jim Fennessey, Peggy and Jim Prekop, Miriam and Jim Prochnow, Marcia Ferrito, Kathryn and Jerry Herbek, Gina and Don Molstad, John and Sally Hassler, Richard and Ellen Hassler, Tom Hassler, Karl Hassler, Michael and Rae Ann Hassler, Peter and Beth Hassler, Paul and Irene Hassler, Joel T. and Lori Hassler, and Dennis Arnold, A special friend Beth Wasielewski, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, Ruth Hassler, and brothers Joel Keith and Fred Hassler.
