Stephen H. Vergane

Stephen H. Vergane, 82, of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at home.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to QC Paws.

Stephen Howard Vergane was born December 19, 1940, in Moline, the son of Howard and Mabel (Nicholson) Vergane. He married Linda Roush on April 21, 1962, in Fremont, California. She died July 23, 2016.

He worked at John Deere Plow & Planter in Moline, for over 20 years, and then for John Deere Parts in Milan for 9 years before retiring.

Steve was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed going to stock car races, flea markets, movies, and auctions. He also loved eating and spending time with his family.

Steve is survived by two children and their spouses, Jeffrey and Angie Vergane of Silvis, and Lori and Jim Edwards of East Moline; two grandchildren and their spouses, Brian and Rachel Vergane of Moline, and Dustin and Trisha Vergane of East Moline; five great-grandchildren, Kendra, Alexandra, Jessica, Emily and Craig; a brother, Michael (Cheryl) Vergane of Annawan, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Vergane; his mother and step-father, Mabel and Robert Mitchell; his wife, Linda Vergane; and a brother, Rodger Vergane.
