Stephen G. Afferica

Stephen G. Afferica, 86, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, August 29, 2022, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Stephen George Afferica was born November 27, 1935, in Weehawken, New Jersey, the son of Stephen George and Mae (Miko) Afferica. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. He married Judith Stentz on September 8, 1962, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

He worked in management for International Harvester, East Moline, for over 26 years, retiring in 1990. He was an excellent woodworker and ran a Christmas wood craft business for 11 years. He also enjoyed investing, political science, gardening, and was an avid Duke basketball fan.

Stephen is survived by his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Judy; a son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Cindy Afferica of Brownsboro, Alabama; and a sister, Joan Afferica of New York City.
