Mary Shoecraft Gibson, 74, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, October 31, 2010, in Trinity Rock Island.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ The King Catholic Church, Moline, with The Reverend Donald A. Levitt officiating. Burial is in St. Mary?s Cemetery, East Moline. There will be a gathering of family and friends at the church from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to River Bend Community of Make a Wish Foundation of Iowa. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is entrusted with arrangements.
The former Mary Louise Shoecraft was born July 15, 1936, in Moline to Robert L. and Kathryn Swift Shoecraft. She graduated from Moline High School in 1954 and attended the University of Illinois, Champaign. She married E. David Gibson in 1956. He preceded her in death in 1981. Mary was last employed at Greenwalt Sponsel and Co, CPA firm in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a past president of Junior Service League of Moline. She enjoyed reading and volunteering at the Childrens Bookstore at Christian Friendliness.
Mary is survived by her children and spouses, Tracy and Doug Conner of Carmel, IN, Kelly and Ernie Magaro of Southington, CT, and Brian Gibson of Lenexa, KS; and 7 grandchildren, Alex, Erin and Reid Conner, Austin and Colin Magaro, and Kamaryn and Drake Gibson. In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Shoecraft.
