Scott E. Stierwalt

Scott E. Stierwalt, 52, of Davenport, Iowa, died Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.

Following cremation at Trimble Crematory, a memorial gathering will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with a time of sharing for family and friends at 6:45 p.m. Memorials may be made to Grace McCubbin for a college fund for Scott's grandchildren.

Scott was born December 3, 1962, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Jerry Eugene and Annabeth (Spurrier) Stierwalt.

He enjoyed his work and co-workers at Walmart in Davenport, where he had worked for 14 years, most recently as the assistant dairy manager. Previously, he had worked at IBP and Hy-Vee. Scott enjoyed stock car racing and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Miami Dolphins fan.

Scott is survived by a daughter, Grace (Tom) McCubbin of Moline; two grandchildren, Maddox and Kennedy McCubbin; his father, Jerry (Peggy) Stierwalt of Walcott, Iowa; a brother, Carey (Julie) Stierwalt of Phoenix, Arizona; and his significant other, Debbie Durham of Davenport, and her grandchildren, Tao Otts, and Josey, Jenna and Jayden Carlson, with whom he was very close. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annabeth Spurrier, and a brother, Randy Stierwalt.
