Scott A. Heydt

October 3, 1959 — June 15, 2019

Scott A. Heydt, 59, of Colona, Illinois, died Saturday, June 15, 2019, at home surrounded by his family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be left to the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.

Scott A. Heydt was born October 3, 1959, in Niceville, Florida, the son of Harold Paul and Margie Louise (Mozingo) Heydt. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was very proud of his service and being a Marine. He married the love of his life, Deanna Harrison, on August 25, 2007, in East Moline, Illinois.

He enjoyed his time in the Marines and as a carpenter. He had a love of Harley Davidson motorcycles and NASCAR, and was a "collector" of many various things. He never hesitated to help someone in need and had a huge heart. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Scott, especially his grandchildren.

Scott is survived by his beloved wife, Deanna; a son, Austin Heydt of Raleigh, North Carolina; two step-children, Patrick (Chase) Harrison of Moline, and Cassie (Drew) Wise of Colona; Stephan (Amanda) Abbott of Colona, who was just like a son to Scott; two grandsons, Konnor and Lucas; siblings, Mike Heydt of High Port, North Carolina, Eric Heydt of Goldsboro, North Carolina, and Chris McCulley of High Point; a sister-in-law, Karen Heydt of Columbia, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mark.

The family would like to give special thanks to Heartland Hospice for the wonderful care given to Scott.

Condolences may be shared at CremationQC.com.
