Sarah L. Jones

Sarah L. Jones, 45, of Rock Island, Illinois, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at home.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Greater Antioch Baptist Church, 929 14th Street, Rock Island. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial is in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the family.

Sarah La’Ree Jones, better known as ReeRee, was born June 10, 1976, in Mary Thompson Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. She was born to Sarah Rhoden & John A. Jones. She was the youngest of three children. She attended school at the Rock Island/Milan School District and completed courses and training through the Job Corps in Utah.

ReeRee was also a member of the Quad City Metro Group & the Rock Island Striders. She was also a member of Royal Diva’s Social Club. She loved being with her family members and celebrating their birthdays. She was employed by WIS Inventory, Kirby, Procter & Gamble, and United Cerebral Palsy organizations.

She leaves to mourn her memory her mother, Sarah Rhoden; sisters; Betty, Joy Africa, Lottie, Linda, and Christina; brother, John Tyler “JT”; a host of nieces and nephews; special friend, Shantell Shelton; her aunt, Andrea Jones; uncles, Weldon Jones of Berkeley, Illinois, and Henry, Frankie, and Larry Rhoden, all of the Quad Cities; and special sister, Shonda Carter.

She was preceded in death by her brother; Edward “Dinky” Rhoden; father, John A. Jones; her grandmothers, Lille M. Rhoden and Lottie B. Jones; grandfather, Henry Rhoden; and uncle, James E. Jones, Sr.

The family would like to thank all of everyone for the kind messages & condolences to our family for ReeRee. We are overwhelmed with happiness at the outpouring of support that we have received. It has been greatly appreciated. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.
