Sandra Ann Van De Woestyne

July 6, 1945 — December 8, 2003

Sandra A. Lovelace Van De Woestyne, 58 of Milan, Illinois, died Monday, December 8, 2003 at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan with the Reverend Paul K. Pett officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Building Fund, the Faith Lutheran Church, Moline, Building Fund, or to the Parish Nurse Program at Trinity Medical Center. The former Sandra Ann Lovelace was born July 6, 1945 in Moline, the daughter of Wayne and Susan (Siano) Lovelace. She graduated from St. Luke's Hospital, School of Nursing. Sandra married Henry "Joe" Van De Woestyne on September 10, 1966 in Milan, Illinois. She was employed at area hospitals, including St. Luke's, Moline Public, and Illini hospitals, and as a Rock Island County Nurse for 11 years. She was currently the Parish Nurse at Faith Lutheran Church in Moline. Sandra was a member at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, where she was the secretary at the Lutheran Womens Missionary League. She was also a member of the "Last Run Sno Riders" snowmobile club, and was the past president of the Taylor Ridge Parent-Teacher Club. She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, snowmobiling and reading. Sandra helped create the High School Scholarship program at Rockridge High School, and volunteered at several Rockridge area activities. Sandra's family includes her husband, Joe of Milan, her granddaughters, Amanda, Samantha, and Ashleigh Sommers all of Andalusia, Illinois, her parents, Wayne and Susan Lovelace of Milan, a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Roberta Lovelace of Bradenton, Florida. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Stefanie.
