Rudolph ''Rudy'' Hollander

Coal Valley, Illinois Rudolph H. "Rudy" Hollander, 85, of Coal Valley, died Wednesday, December 5, 2001, in Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Coal Valley. The Reverend Robert Hagen will officiate. Entombment is in Davenport Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Mr. Hollander was born June 2, 1916, in Elkton, South Dakota, the son of John and Margaret (Schoenman) Hollander. He married Wanda Stafford of June 2, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan. He was an over-the-road truck driver for Yellow Freight Systems for over 25 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Coal Valley, and the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed working on his cars and doing yard work. Rudy is survived by his wife, Wanda; a son, James Hollander of Coal Valley; three grandchildren, Jaynee Scott of Bettendorf, James Hollander Jr. of Denver, and Jeff Plumlee of Aspen, Colorado; two great-grandchildren, Keigan and Kaitlin Scott; a brother, Ernest Hollander of Boyden, Iowa; a step-brother, John Hollander Jr. of Boyden; and step-sisters, Elaine Brandhorst of Hudson, Iowa, and Alta Claus of Spencer, Iowa.
