Coal Valley, Illinois R. Scott Mills, 67, of Coal Valley, died Sunday, June 3, 2001, in his home after a two-year battle with cancer. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Private interment is in Camp Ground Cemetery, Greenville, Illinois. Visitation is 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Wednesday. A memorial fund will be established in his name. Royal Scott Mills was born October 25, 1933, in Keyesport, Illinois, the son of Bryan J. and Dorothy (Apple) Mills. He married E. Lucille "Lucy" Farley on December 18, 1954, in Grantfork, Illinois. He retired as production manager from Miller Container Corporation, Milan, where he worked from 1973 through 1995. He then served as a consultant to Punja Combined Manufacturers, Fiji Islands, from 1995 through 1997. He previously worked for General Box Company in Meridian, Mississippi, and Alton Box Company in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Galesburg and Highland, Illinois. Scott is survived by his wife, Lucy; his mother, Dorothy, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three sons and daughters-in-law, Royal Scott Jr. and his wife Kathy of Palatine, Illinois, Wayne and his wife Brenda of Geneseo, and Michael and his wife Margaret of Rolling Meadows, Illinois; a daughter and son-in-law, Judi Mills.Grossman and Michael Grossman of River Forest, Illinois; nine grandchildren; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Russ Bankert of Apple Valley, Ohio, and Mary and Ron Hagler of Colorado Springs. He was preceded in death by his father and a grandson. END OF OBITUARY
