Roy Irwin Groenwoldt Sr.

Roy I. Groenwoldt, 89 of Rock Island, Illinois died Sunday, September 29, 2002 at his home. Funeral Services will be private. Memorials may be sent to Pathway Hospice 500 42nd Street Rock Island, IL 61201. Roy Irwin Groenwoldt Sr. was born March 24, 1913 in Davenport, Iowa the son of Henry and Paula (Peters) Groenwoldt. He married the former Margaret Yates on May 1, 1948 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Mr. Groenwoldt was employed as a bus driver for the Davenport City Bus Line for over 34 years. He enjoyed his retirement gardening, and spending time with Margaret, his wife of over 54 years. His survivors include his wife Margaret; three daughters, Marie, Paula, and Sandy; son, Roy, Jr.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his five sisters, and two brothers.
