Rosemarie Degeeter

Rosemarie Degeeter, 93, of Bettendorf, Iowa, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation (Utica Ridge), Davenport.

Private burial is in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, Moline. Memorials may be made to Bettendorf Public Library.

The former Rosemarie Loete was born February 29, 1928, in Moline, the daughter of August and Elsie (Termont) Loete. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Moline, in 1946, and attended Marycrest College in Davenport. She married Clyde Degeeter on November 28, 1953, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. He died November 20, 2016.

Rosemarie worked in accounting for John Deere Plow-Planter Works and later at Arc of the Quad Cities. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. She enjoyed reading, particularly mysteries, watching classic movies, British comedies, Jeopardy!, and Nascar with her husband, and shopping on QVC.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Maurice Truster of Bettendorf; and a grandson, Taylor Truster of South Bend, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband; two daughters, Kimberly and Robin; and a brother, David Loete.

The family would like to give special thanks to friends and staff at the Fountains, Bettendorf, where Rosemarie lived the past five years.
