Memorials may be made to Bethany for Children & Families, the Martin Luther King Center, Friendly House, Focus House, or a favorite children's charity.

He was born July 5, 1951, in Louisiana, Missouri, the son of William and Katherine (Wommack) Griffith. He married Maritia Quinn on July 11, 1987, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ronn was passionate about his work. He was devoted to children's programming, working at Bethany for Children & Families, the Focus House in Rochelle, Illinois, and the Friendly House in Davenport, Iowa, before retiring from the Martin Luther King Center, Rock Island, in 2008.

Ronn and Maritia were foster parents for 10 years. Track and Field was his passion, as a coach, participant, and spectator. He was a jokester who will remembered for his sense of humor and funny stories.

The main theme in Ronn's life was giving to others, which he was able to do at the very end by being a Gift of Hope Donor.

Ronn is survived by his wife, Maritia; children, Demetrius Nichols, and Tasha (Clyde) Barnett, all of Flint, Michigan, Magdalyn Dillier of Boston, Massachusettes, Samuel Griffith of Chicago, and Drake Griffith of Rock Island; volunteer family members, Asha Pangrazio and Shannin Budde; seven grandchildren; and sisters, Gloria (James) Ellis, and Gina Harris, all of Davenport; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Eugene Griffith.
