Rollin E. Swanson

Rollin E. "Butch" Swanson, Jr., 62, of Moline, Illinois, formerly of Decatur, Alabama, died Wednesday, July 6, 2016, in his home.

A hospitality gathering for family and friends will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home, Moline.

Rollin Eugene Swanson was born August 24, 1953, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Rollin E. and Alice (Newcomb) Swanson. He was a supervisor at the Mary Davis Home in Galesburg, Illinois, for several years. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed music.

Rollin is survived by four children and spouses, Darren and Amy Swanson, Tony and Laura Swanson, and Lori and Mario Vigil, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Phillip Swanson of Colchester, Illinois; seven grandsons and one granddaughter he eagerly anticipated; siblings and spouses, Jody and Schuyler Huston of Moline, Lloyd and Liddell Swanson of Eminence, Missouri, Scott Swanson of Moline, and Robin Swanson of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews and their families.
