Roger H. Anderson

October 17, 1922 — June 13, 2011

Roger H. Anderson, 88, formerly of Milan, Illinois, died Monday, June 13, 2011, in Heartland Health Care Center, Moline, Illinois.

Graveside services are 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Moline Memorial Park, under the direction of Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. The Reverend Jim Ruberg will officiate. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Milan, Illinois.

Roger Harding Anderson, was born on October 17, 1922, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Clarence R. and Sophia R. Zima Anderson. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1940, and completed courses at Mason City Junior College and the Hamilton School of Commerce.

In 1951 he entered the electrical trade with I.B.E.W. Local 431 in Mason City working in Mason City and surrounding areas. On November 9, 1963, he married Nancy C. Robb Wiemers of Moline. He and Nancy enjoyed traveling and building their new home in Milan. Nancy died May 11, 2008. Roger retired in 1986 from the I.B.E.W. Local 145 in Rock Island.

Roger was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the NRA.

Survivors include step-children and their spouses, Larry and Mary Wiemers of East Moline, and Irene and William Pendergast of Cordova, Illinois; step-grandchildren, Jeff Wiemers, Bill Wiemers, Kris Derr, Allen Page, Ken Page and Kathy Page; nine step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild. Roger is also survived by two cousins Evelyn Miller and Glen Nelson, both of Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Nancy
