Robert Virgil Lintz was born May 15, 1945, in Washington, Iowa, to Virgil and Norma (Deastch) Lintz. He served two tours in Vietnam with the US Air Force and graduated with top honors from St. Ambrose University. He married Marcia McKinney on May 18, 1974, in Moline. He was employed at Inpro Companies, Rock Island, for 22 years, retiring in 1998 as Comptroller. He previously worked at KPMG and John Deere Insurance Company. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, and St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Anna, Illinois, as well as a lifetime member of VFW, and a member of VVA #229. He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus Leo Council in East Moline, and Knights of Columbus in Union County, Illinois, and was a member of Cursillo. He was the founder of Neighborhood Watch in East Moline, the oldest one in the Quad Cities. He was a former member of Kiwanis, American Legion, DAV, and National Association of Accountants. He had served on the boards of Rock Island Health Council, Rock Island Small Business Incubator, the 17th Congressional District Veterans, Small Business Advisory Boards, and the John Deere Credit Union. His interest were work, community, and family, and he loved local history.

His family has many fond memories including listening to songs of Red Sovine, Saturday morning breakfasts out followed by trips to the local hardware store to get supplies for home improvement projects. In later years, Bob enjoyed attending farm shows with his son and two older grandsons. We will miss Bob immensely but are so happy that he is no longer suffering.

Bob is survived by his wife, Marcia; two children, Jonathan Lintz of Cobden, Illinois, and Sara Sacks and her husband David of Chicago; grandchildren, Jace Lintz, Caleb Sacks (who called him “Papa Bobber”), and Jonah Sacks; step-grandchildren, Carlie and Colton Clausen; siblings and spouses, Linda and Robert Phillips of Delray Beach, Florida, Leon and Debbie Lintz of Homestead, Iowa, and Sue Ann and Marc Stavale of Homestead, Florida; and ex-daughters-in-law, Jami Hartsock and Jennifer Lintz. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leonard and Dean Lintz; and Marcia’s parents, Fred and Marcella McKinney.

The family would like to give special thanks to Bob’s friend and caregiver, Shelly Thomas, and invites friends to share stories and condolences at TrimbleFuneralHomes.com.
