Robert J. Peterson

Robert J. Peterson, 93, formerly of Moline, died Sunday, July 1, 2018, in New Prospectives Senior Living, Silvis, Illinois.

Services are 11:30 a.m. Friday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Rev. Larry Conway officiating. Visitation is one hour before the services. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Friends are invited to join the family at a funeral luncheon at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe following the burial. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline, or a favorite charity.

Robert James Peterson was born July 2, 1924, in Moline, to Oscar E. and Carrie Aff Peterson. He married Audrene Fenno on May 23, 1948, in Moline. She died January 1, 2001. He served in the US Army during WW II. He was a custodian at Opportunity Center for 15 years, retiring in 1986. He previously worked for Desaulniers, Moline Dispatch and Streiter Corp. He was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he was on the church council, property chairman, and usher.

Bob is survived by two children and spouses, Dane and Judy Peterson of Sterling, Illinois, and Diane and Jim Vana of North Port, Florida; four grandchildren and spouses, Douglas and Angie Peterson, Erik and Krista Peterson, Lindsey Vana and Matthew Vana; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrene, and sister, Pauline Jackson.
