East Moline, Illinois Robert H. Doggett, 59, of East Moline, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 9, 2002, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Green Rock Free Will Baptist Church, Colona. Pastor Sam Henderson will officiate. Private burial will be in National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, and 10 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the family. Robert Howard Doggett was born February 14, 1943, in Rock Island, the son of Marion Robert and Marjorie (Swires) Doggett. He graduated from Rock Island High School and attended Black Hawk College. Following high school, he served four years in the U. S. Air Force, and then served in the Illinois National Guard for 16 years. He married Melaney S. Green on June 25, 1983, in Rock Island. He was a boring mill operator at John Deere Davenport Works for 27 years, retiring on disability in 2001. He was a member of Green Rock Free Will Baptist Church, Colona. He loved his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed computers and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Melaney; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Amy Smith and John M. and Tara Smith, and five grandchildren, Cole, Morgan, Ricky, John, and Noah Smith, all of Colona; his mother, Marjorie Wheaton of Rock Island; and brothers and a sister-in-law, Daniel Doggett of Chicago, Michael Wheaton of Rock Island, and Robert T. and Patches Doggett of Chicago Heights, Illinois.
