Robert E. Salmon

Robert E. Salmon, 67, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, September 7, 2020, in University Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa.

A memorial service to celebrate Robb’s life will be 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, at Word of Life Church, Rock Island. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the church.

Robert Eugene Salmon was born August 30, 1953, in Moline, the son of Claude Eugene and Ruby June (Burkhiser) Salmon. He married Rosalie Pearl Valett on May 23, 1974, in Milan, Illinois.

He was a member, played guitar in the band, and worked at Word of Life Church, Rock Island. He was a little league coach and Chicago Cubs’ fan, and a good advice giver and talker. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Rob.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rosalie; four children, Amy Chandler, Megan Mittvalsky, Dustin (Bobbie) Salmon, and Val Myers; grandchildren, Taylor, Camryn, and Rylee, Madeline and Maxwell, Sevrin, and Ashley; a great-granddaughter, Morgan; two sisters, Victoria (Mike) Welch and Linda (Steven) Musich; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pamela Murphy.
