Robert C. ?Bob? Butt, 57, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, August 15, 2006, in his home.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal, where Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to an educational fund for his granddaughter.
Robert Christopher Butt was born September 7, 1948, in Moline, the son of Robert M. and Lois (Hollmer) Butt. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Viet Nam war, and was a mechanical engineer at the Rock Island Arsenal for many years, retiring in 1999.
He was a member of Moline Lodge #1014, AF & AM, and Moline American Legion Post #246. He enjoyed classic cars.
Bob is survived by a son, Bradley Butt and his partner, Kandie Maze of Casper, Wyoming; a daughter, Melissa Butt of Moline; a granddaughter, Mikaela Alexandria Slay; a brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Diane Butt of East Moline; and special friends, Lee Moens and Jim Reed. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Daniel and Jeffrey Butt.
