Richard P. Demint

Richard P. Demint, 70, of Sherrard, Illinois, died Friday, September 1, 2017, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.

Richard requested there be no services. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.

He was born September 26, 1946, in Van Wert, Ohio, the son of Paul and Iva (Chilcote) Demint. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and married Sally Labeau on May 9, 1970, in Welland, Ontario.

Rich worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for 35 years, retiring in 2006.

He is survived by his wife, Sally; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Kevin Egan of Sherrard; and three sisters, Helen Blank, Mary VanDemark, and Sue (Robert) Craine, all of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Russell.
