Richard A. Sabaski

Richard A. Sabaski, 76, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Thursday, November 6, 2014, in UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois, with his wife by his side.

Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral Home, 1700 1st Street, Coal Valley. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Richard Adiel Sabaski was born June 26, 1938, in Moline, Illinois, to Louis and Anna Seynaeve Sabaski. Served in the U. S. Marines and the Marine Reserves, and married Charlene Dirck on May 23, 1981, in Hillsdale, Illinois. He was a welder at Kone Elevator Company for 43 years, retiring in 1998. He loved working in his basement woodworking shop, and enjoyed fishing, traveling, and flea markets.

Richard is survived by his wife, Charlene; a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Carol Sabaski of St. Charles, Missouri; a niece and her husband, Diana and Martin Meyer; a nephew and his wife, Jim and Elise Sabaski; his two children and their spouses. Sherry and Lane Mohr and Rick and Norma Sabaski, all of East Moline; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Doris Dirck of Mesa, Arizona; a sister-in-law, Sharon Kay Dirck of Dixon, Illinois; and special friends, Sharon and Laurie Young of Rock Island. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Debbie Sabaski; and his father-in-law, Roland Dirck.
