Rock Island, Illinois The Reverend E. E. Michael, 88, formerly of Huntsville, Alabama, died Sunday, March 2, 2003, in his daughter's home in Rock Island, where he had lived for the past 18 months. Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Visitation is one hour before the services. Additional visitation will be Thursday evening at Laughlin-Service Funeral Home, Huntsville, followed by services at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Huntsville. Memorials may be made to Grace Bible Fellowship, Moline. Elmer Elisha Michael was born March 21, 1914, in Huntsville, the son of Claude J. and Mamie (East) Michael. He married Mary W. Jones on May 7, 1933, in Huntsville. She died July 28, 1978. He married Ruth Stevens in 1980 in Pell City, Alabama, and she died in 1984. He married Merle Yerby in 1987 in Berry, Alabama. Rev. Michael was a pastor and evangelist for almost 70 years, beginning at the age of 16. He was currently a minister with the Fellowship of Bible Churches, and was previously a minister with the Nazarene Church and the Bible Missionary Church. In addition to his evangelist ministry, he founded the Bible Fellowship Church in Jasper, Alabama, and served there many years. He was a brick layer by trade, and belonged to the Brick Layers Union. He was currently a member of the Grace Bible Church, Moline, and had been a member of the General Boards and School Boards in the three denominations he served. He had been particularly active on the Children's Home Board of the Bible Missionary Church. He was a self-educated man who loved books, and was devoted to his family. Rev. Michael is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Rev. Donnie Plemons of Rock Island; a son and daughter-in-law, Coy E. and Jeanie Michael of Huntsville; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
