Coal Valley, Illinois Reinhold J. Schroeder, 90, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Wednesday, October 29, 2003, in Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley. Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Coal Valley, with The Reverend Robert Hagen officiating. Burial is in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is one hour before the services at the church. Memorials may be made to the church or a favorite charity. Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley, is in charge of arrangments. Mr. Schroeder was born January 1, 1913, on the family farm in Colona Township in Henry County, Illinois. He was one of 17 children born to C. Fred and Augusta (Taube) Schroeder. He married Miriam Zwicker on September 16, 1950, in Rock Island. She died September 1, 1978. He farmed his entire life, and retired in 1989. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Coal Valley, where he had served as financial secretary and on many boards, and was a long time member of the Henry County Farm Bureau. He loved to travel and had been all over the world. Reinhold is survived by his daughter, Joyce K. Schroeder of Springfield, Illinois; a brother, Walter Schroeder of Napavine, Washington; a sister, Martha Taylor of Lincoln, Nebraska; brothers-in-law, Arthur Zwicker of East Moline, Elmer Seitz of Taylor Ridge, and Al VonFange of Farmington, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews, including Dave and Anita Schroeder and family of Coal Valley, who were especially close to him.
