Raymond F. Herring

Raymond F. Herring, 76, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, August 6, 2018, in the emergency room at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island.

A private family gathering will be held Saturday, August 11, at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, followed by cremation at Trimble Crematory. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Ray was born December 14, 1941, in Moline, Illinois to Hubert and Margaret Jones Herring. He married Karna Russell on December 29, 1963, in Moline. He was employed by the East Moline Correction Center as an engineer in the power plant for 35 years, retiring in 1998. He enjoyed gardening and bird watching, and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ray is survived by his wife, Karna; two children, Beth Bridges of Franklin, Wisconsin, and Steve Herring of Moline; two grandchildren, Jenna Herring and Robbie Bridges; three great-grandchildren, Adriana, Alex, and Isabella; siblings and spouses, Ron and Mary Herring of Maquoketa, Iowa, Richard and Jima Herring of Broomfield, Colorado, and Ruth and Dave Gould of Milan, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
