Ralph N. Muzos, 88, of East Moline, Illinois, formerly of Moline, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, in Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Donna Blythe officiating. Interment is in Rock Island National Cemetery where Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Illowa Boy Scout Council, Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, or Arrowhead Ranch.
Ralph Nicholas Muzos was born December 27, 1921, in Moline, Illinois, the son of Gust and Myrtle Briley Muzos. He graduated from United Township High School and served in the U. S. Army during WW II. He married Julia Gray of Davenport, Iowa, on March 21, 1943, in Moline.
Ralph was an insurance agent for National Travelers Life for forty years, retiring in 1997. He was named Agent of the Year and was a member of the President?s Club for several years. He was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church for over 50 years, president of the Moline Dad?s Club, a Leader of Boy Scout Troop #50, a member of Moline American Legion Post #246, coached Girls Junior High Softball, and was a former Life Scout. He was an avid gardener.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 67 years, Julia; three children and their spouses, Michael and Emily Muzos of Whidbey Island, Washington, Steven and Anne Muzos of Austin, Texas, and Janet and Keith Eriksen of Moline; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Dorothea DeMont of East Moline and JoAnn Creighton of Fairborn, Ohio.
