R. “Midge” Piggott

Margaret Rochelle “Midge” Piggott, 52, of Ophiem, Illinois, died Thursday, April 5, 2007, in her home, surrounded by her family.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will take place 5 p.m. Thursday at Unitarian Church, 3707 Eastern Avenue, Davenport, Iowa, where she was a member. Friends are invited to join the family for a dinner at the church following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be in Midge’s memory to the Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund, 2322 East Kimberly Road, Davenport, Iowa 52807.

Midge was born December 16, 1954, in Royal Oak, Michigan, the daughter of Daniel and Dorothy (Brown) Truesdell. She married Lester “Les” Piggott on February 25, 1972, in Tipton, Iowa. She received her degree in Pratical Nurse Education from Scott Community College in 1983.

Midge worked as a Correctional Registered Nurse for the Rock Island County Sheriff?s Department in Rock Island, Illinois for 18 years. She was a member of the Academy of Correctional Health Professionals. She enjoyed reading, antiques, listening to music, and playing with her Dachshunds, Stubby and Charlie.

Midge is survived by her husband of 35 years, Les, her mother, Dorothy Truesdell of Dunedin, Florida, her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Leslie Piggott of Cambridge, Illinois, her daughter, Katie Piggott, and her partner Yael of Kentwood, Michigan, her grandsons, Mason and Cole Piggott, and her sister and brother-in-law, Valerie and Keith Magnuson of Holly, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her father.
