Services for Paul E. Mittman are 10:30 AM Monday, February 9, 2004 in Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 5 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be given to the church. Paul Ernest Mittman, age 85, of Moline, died Thursday, February 05, 2004 at his home. He was born October 7, 1918 in Muscatine, Iowa. The son of Ernest and Blanche (Merkelbach) Mittman. He married the former Gladys Bessie Wise on June 24, 1942 in Moline. She preceded him in death on October 10, 2000.
Mr. Mittman was employed Modern Woodmen of America for over 42 years, retirng in 1983 as the manager of mailing and shipping. He was a longtime and very active member at Moline Gospel Temple, where he was a sunday school teacher, deacon, and past board member. He also loved to read. He is survived by four sisters-in-law, Etta Mittman of Moline, Ann Mittman of St. Petersburg, FL, Jeannette Fitzpatrick of Cable, IL, and Barbara and Paul Cady of California, several nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He also had two brothers, George and Jack Mittman who preceded him in death.
