Patricia A. Heilwagner, 72, of Orion, Illinois, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her furry children, on Thursday, September 18, 2014.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Orion United Methodist Church, with The Reverend David R. Schultz officiating. Burial is in Western Township Cemetery, Orion. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Memorials may be made to the church or the Trinity School of Nursing Alumni Association, where she was a member.

The former Patricia Ann Buchholz was born July 19, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of J. Leonard and Burnilda Maxine (Foor) Buchholz. She graduated from Moline High School in 1959, and earned her RN from Moline Public School of Nursing in 1963. She married Raymond Otto Heilwagner on July 11, 1964, in Moline, Illinois. He died July 11, 1984.

Pat was an RN for Dr. J.O. Hansen and Dr. C.J. Weissmann, both in Moline, and then at Oak Glen Home in Coal Valley, retiring in 1997 as supervisor.

She was a member of Orion Methodist Church, and a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Moline, and then Bethel Wesley United Methodist Church, Moline. She belonged to the Trinity School of Nursing Alumni Association and the Hope Creek Auxiliary. She was a volunteer for the Hope Creek Library, where she was known as the "Library Lady". She also belonged to TOPS, serving as Queen for a year after losing 100 pounds.

Pat is survived by her children, Pam Heilwagner and her special friend, Jennifer, of Ballwin, Missouri, Kristine Riggs and her special friend, Randy, of Orion, and Tim Heilwagner of Ballwin; grandchildren, Amber Woodhurst, and Tony, Michael, and Olivia Heilwagner; siblings, Sandy and Richard Perry of Moline, Bruce and Michele Buchholz of Colona, Illinois, and Phillip and Jayna Buchholz of Coal Valley; a mother-in-law, Miriam Heilwagner of Milan, Illinois; a sister-in-law, Patty Herbert of Milan; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
