Opal M. Cameron

December 23, 1918 — February 26, 2002

Moline, Illinois Opal M. Cameron, age 83, of Moline, died Tuesday, February 26, 2002 at the home of her stepson in Port Byron. Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsburg, IL; memorials may be given to VNA Pathway Hospice. The former Opal Mae Curtis was born on December 23, 1918 in Iuka, IL, the daughter of Charles and Irene (Henson) Curtis. She married John Cameron in 1960 in Massillon, OH he died in 1971. Opal retired from Millard Maintenance in 1986 after 11 years of employment. She had previously been employed at Pittsburgh Salt Co. in St. Louis, MO. Opal enjoyed caring for her yard and her animals. She spent the remaining years of life living with her special friend Max Lacey who died on September 29, 2000. Survivors include her brother, Harold Curtis, St. Louis, MO, stepson, Dave and Sue Lacey, Port Byron, along with several grandchildren, and special friends. Two sisters, Verna, and Helen, and four brothers, Arthur, Ernest, Ira, and Cecil also preceded opal in death.
