Moline, Illinois Services for Opal Miller, 86, of Moline, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Island. The Reverend Stacie Fidlar will officiate. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Memorials may be made to the Organ Fund of the Church. Mrs. Miller died Saturday, November 30, 2002, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. The former Opal Henrietta Scrivener was born October 20, 1916, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of John Henry and Mattie Oliva (Rhyne) Scrivener. She married LeRoy Miller on October 25, 1942, in Fort Dodge. He died June 5, 1989. She had worked as a clerk at the Rock Island Arsenal. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Island. Opal is survived by two sons, Larry A. Miller, and Jerry E. Miller of Rock Island; a step-daughter and her husband, Sandra and Wayne Lance of East Moline; three grandchildren, Gary, Heather, and Jennifer; a step-granddaughter, Lori; a great-grandson, Jacob; and a step-great-granddaughter, Allie. She was preceded in death by four sisters. "Opal had a beautiful smile that was commented on by all who were in range, Opal and her radiant smile will be missed by all."
