Moline, Illinois Ona L. Tadewald, 90 of Moline, died Thursday, March 7, 2002 at Aspenwood Healthcare Center, Silvis. Private Services will be held at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Memorials may be given to VNA Hospice of Davenport, 1225 E. River Drive, Davenport, IA 52803. The former Ona Lenora Andrews was born March 29, 1911 in Keithsburg, IL the daughter of Edward and Mayme (Mellinger) Andrews. Ona married Charles H. Tadewald February 14, 1935 in Moline. He preceded her in death on February 12, 1992. Ona had been employed at F.W. Woolworth Co, Moline as a salesclerk for 8½ years before starting her family. Ona was a former member of First Congregational Church, Moline. She had been a member of the King's Daughters, and the PTA, Moline. She had been active in the National Democratic Party, and once ran for the Moline City Clerk's Office. Ona enjoyed reading and embroidery. Her survivors include two daughters, Suzanne Sampsel of Moline, and Joline Bailey of Cathedral City, CA; six grandchildren, Michael Lackey, Amanda Lackey, Jennifer Grizzle, Richard A. Bailey, Mary Cooper, and Pamela Horton; along with five great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, a brother, Alvin Andrews, and her son, James Tadewald.
