Olga M. Jordan, 97, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Thursday, January 10, 2013, in her home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Coal Valley. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, and one hour before the mass at the church. The Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, masses may be given to the church.
The former Olga Tertipes was born April 9, 1915, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Nick and Elaine Lingris Tertipes. She married Frank J. Jordan on May 15, 1937, in Moline. He died January 4, 1989. She was office manager at Highland Park Bowl for 27 years, retiring in 1983.
She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Coal Valley, and one of the founders of St. George Greek Orthodox Church. She was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the casino boats, and enjoyed cryptogram puzzles and reading. She was a wonderful woman of faith who touched everyone she met with that faith. She truly lived a life of Christ. The family thanks Trinity Pathway Hospice for all of their help.
Olga is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Sandy Jordan of Coal Valley; five grandchildren, Scott Jordan, Jon Janowski, Stephanie Inness, Denise Harris, and Little Tony Jordan and their spouses; 18 great-grandchildren, who all had their lives touched by Olga in many special ways; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a granddaughter, Wendy Miller, and 13 siblings.
