Myrtle Marie Stewart, 76, of East Moline, Illinois, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2006, in Pathway Hospice at Trinity at Terrace Park, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Services are 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Union Congregational Church, Moline, with Rev. Kenneth Kuenning officiating. Graveside service and burial will precede the memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to the church.
The former Myrtle Marie Crawford was born March 11, 1930, in Taylor Ridge, Illinois, the daughter of Mark and Mabel (Gaston) Crawford. She graduated from Reynolds High School and attended St. Anthony Hospital School of Nursing, Rock Island. She was office nurse for Dr. Marshall Miner for many years. She married Donald T. Stewart on August 19,1 950, in Edgington, Illinois. He passed away October 6, 1998.
She was an active member of Union Congregational Church, where she was Trustee and a member of A?Dettes. She enjoyed handiwork, especially crocheting and tatting, reading and watching sports.
Myrtle is survived by a daughter, Christine Hill of Plymouth, New Hampshire; a granddaughter, Heather Hill who resided with her; grandsons, Richie and Michael Byrd of Colona; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Harriett and Alex Strandgard of Coal Valley, Mary and Ken Iverson of Taylor Ridge, Bernadine and Tony Figurin of Sheffield, Charlene and Vern Theisen of Pecatonica, Alberta Rossow of Bloomingdale, Georgia, Dorothy and Ned Grover of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, and Zylphia and Bob Collen of Rockford; and brothers-in-law, Clifford Stewart and his wife Mary of Rock Island, and John McKeag of Illinois City. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and sisters, Betty Loveall in 1989, and Miona Petersen in 1996.
