East Moline, Illinois Melba R. Gardner, 84, of East Moline, formerly of Moline, died Saturday, May 29, 2004, in Forest Hill Health Care Center, East Moline. Visitation is 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, followed by a graveside service at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Moline, where she was a member. The former Melba Ruth Weaver was born December 20, 1919, in Frankford, Missouri, the daughter of Lloyd and Carmen (Campbell) Weaver. She married Robert E. Gardner on December 31, 1939, in Hannibal, Missouri. He died July 27, 2000. She had worked at Spiegel's Catalog Store, Shultz Photo Studio, and Len Brown's Photo Studio in Moline. She enjoyed gardening and cooking, and loved being with her grandchildren. Melba is survived by four children and their spouses, Robert and Nancy Gardner of Hampton, Linda and Bruce Moore of Moline, Dianna and John Desherow of Hampton, and Patricia Gardner of Moline; six grandchildren and their spouses, Abigail and Brian Weatherington, Andrew Gardner, Patrick Moore and his fiancee Tracey Bochenek, Shawn and Amanda Moore, Amy and James Dillbeck, and Derek Desherow; four great-grandchildren, Anthony and Ashley Charlson, Alexis Dillbeck, and Duncan Moore; and a brother, Michael Weaver and a sister-in-law, Mildred Weaver, both of Palmyra, Missouri.
