Maurice F. "Andy" Anderson, former Moline Alderman and Mayor of Geneseo, died Friday, March 14, 2003, Iowa Masonic Health Facility, Bettendorf.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. The Reverend Gary LaCroix will officiate. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, where Stewart Lodge #92, AF & AM, Geneseo, will conduct Masonic funeral services at 6L30 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Shriners Childrens Hospital or to the charity of your choice.

Mr. Anderson was born March 20, 1912, in North Henderson, Illinois, the son of Otto H. and Ardeen (Rehn) Anderson. He married Doris Walters Evoy on November 3, 1962, in Tiskilwa, Illinois. He was a salesman for Thermal Co., Davenport, Iowa, for four years, and had previously worked at Sears Roebuck and Montgomery Ward stores. Active in politics, Andy was Precinct Committeeman and 4th Ward Alderman in the City of Moline, and later served four years as Mayor of Geneseo, Illinois. He was Past Master of Stewart Lodge #92, AF & AM, Geneseo; Past Patron of Rose Chapter #626, Order of Eastern Star, Silvis; a member of Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Moline, Ben Ali Shrine in Sacramento, California, and Hi Twelve Club in Chicago; and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline, and Messiah Lutheran Church, Aledo. He enjoyed genealogy and traveling.

Andy is survived by his wife, Doris; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry W. and Lynne Anderson of Fredericksburg, Texas; a granddaughter, Kelley Arnold; three great-grandchildren; and a step-daughter. Dona Elvis of Lynwood, Washington. He was preceded in death by a son, James S. Anderson.
