Martha M. Shattuck

Martha M. Shattuck, 94, of Moline, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at home.

Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Burial is in Clover Chapel Cemetery, Woodhull. A hospitality visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Mary Kay Foundation or Orion Christian Church.

The former Martha Marie Johnson was born November 19, 1924, in Orion, Illinois, the daughter of Gilbert and Hazel (Johnson) Johnson. She married Fay Charles Shattuck on November 27, 1942, in The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He died February 9, 2014, after 71 years of marriage.

She worked at the New York Store as a seamstress, for over 15 years as a secretary at Eagle Signal, and was a Mary Kay Consultant for 45 years

Martha was a longtime member of Clover Chapel, and a member of Orion Christian Church, where she was active in the Women's Bible Study group. She loved gardening, flowers, cooking, and games with her family. Music was a very important part of her life, and she passed that along to her entire family.

Martha is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Arnold-Lien and James Lien of Morgan Hill, California, and Marilyn and Robert Juranich of Sitka, Alaska; a son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Paula Shattuck of Moline; six grandchildren, Baron (Carla) Arnold, Heather (Matthew Lilly) Arnold-Lilly, Kimberly Juranich, Kelly (Timothy) Carnicle, Matt (Heather) Shattuck, and Scott (Molly) Shattuck; great-grandchildren, Madison and Abigail Arnold, Sydney Juranich, and Robyn, Rhett, Brady, and Nora Shattuck; three siblings, Grace Hofreiter, Dorothy Swanson, and Paul Johnson, all of Moline; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, and siblings, Donald, Hubert, Mabelle, and Elijah Johnson, and Harriet Newman.
