Martha A. Mckee

Martha A. "Marty" McKee, 73, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, December 13, 2015, at home.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Reverend James Patrick officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to the family.

The former Martha Ann Platt was born May 13, 1942, in Moline, the daughter of Russell and Frances (Hodgson) Platt. She married Thomas F. McKee on June 11, 1961, in Colona, Illinois.

Marty worked as a bus driver for Johannes Bus Service and Danaway Bus Lines. She also worked for several area Hardee's.

She and her husband were charter members of Victory Baptist Church, East Moline, and she was a 4-H Leader. She enjoyed crafting with flowers, but she loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Marty is survived by her husband, Tom, of Rock Island; children, Roberta "Robin" (Andrew) Glaze of Biloxi, Mississippi, Richard (Karla) McKee of Silvis, Ronald (Tamra) McKee of Walton, Kentucky, Rodney (Sandra Smith) McKee of Eldridge, Iowa, and Russell McKee and Rory (Laura) McKee, all of East Moline; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Mark Platt of Coal Valley, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister-in-law, Bev Platt, and a brother-in-law, James "Jim" McKee.
